Short Description:

The popular Mandalay Swan Hotel is an old but decent little hotel facing the moat and walls of Mandalay Fort. It's not particularly large and has only 2 floors so the facilities are quite limited, but perfectly sufficient. There's a good little pool and a choice of dining including the lively Peking Restaurant. Cosy rooms lack light and are compact, but have been recently renovated and are well equipped, clean and homely. All rooms except economy rooms, which have no windows, are inward facing towards the pool and accessed via the breezy verandas. The exterior layout feels a bit like a school out the back, but the hotel still carries a holiday feel. Being 30 years old the Swan is well used, and worn in areas, but it is very well maintained and mangaged. Due to its size the Mandalay Swan has a personal feel with helpful, bright and cheerful staff. Good for those looking for rare international comforts in Third World Mandalay for an affordable price.
